Guide to Kenmore
Kenmore, a village in New York’s Erie County, forms the part of the Buffalo-Niagara Falls metropolitan area. Lying in the southern portion of the Town of Tonawanda, Kenmore shares borders with the City of Buffalo. Ranked among ‘Top 10 Great Neighborhoods’ in the US, Kenmore is one the most dense regions. Covering a landmass of around 1.4 sq mi, Kenmore is bisected by major roads, including New York State Route 265, New York State Route 384, Erie CR 119, and Erie CR 307.
Carved out of the Town of Tonawanda, Kenmore was founded in the year 1899. Louis Eberhardt, locally known as the Father of Kenmore, preferred to name the suburb as Kenmore, instead of his own name Eberhardt. His residence ‘Eberhardt Mansion’, located near Delaware Avenue, is a famous landmark now. Kenmore is served by two major airports including, Niagara Falls International Airport and Buffalo Niagara International Airport, both located at a distance of around 11 miles from the village centre.
